Side Effects

Common fluconazole side effects include nausea, headache, and stomach pain. Diarrhea is also possible. Mild side effects tend to resolve on their own or go away when you finish your treatment course. How effective is it?

Women taking fluconazole should see an improvement within a few days. Some women will notice improvement in 24 hours.

For men, the condition can take a little longer to clear up. The symptoms should clear up within a few days, although this can take up to a week.

If your condition hasn't cleared up within one week, you should consult a doctor.

Cautions when using fluconazole

Thrush is an infection which can occur without sexual contact, so it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, the infection can be passed on during sex, so it is recommended that you should not have sex until the infection has cleared up.

Diflucan is used for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis in women. It may also be used for the treatment of infections in the liver, stomach or intestines. It belongs to the fluconazole class of medicines. It works by stopping the growth of fungi which causes yeast infections. It should be taken only when taken, and in low doses, as combination with a proper antifungal treatment. See also :"). This medicine does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. It may cause painful or stuporous erection after taking it. It may cause painful or swollen glands. It may increase your fever. It may increase your vomiting. It may cause the following symptoms in women: stomach pain, persistent nausea, vomiting, feeling tired, tired arms, feeling unwell, tired legs, feeling dizzy, feeling sick, and fainting. It may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. It may cause the following allergic reactions in women: skin rash, itching, hives, or wheezing. It may also affect the eyes. It may cause dizziness. In allergic skin reactions, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. It may cause some side effects like headache, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, or nausea. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you take, especially medicines taken before or after eating or the medicines that you get on a daily basis. This medicine may make you feel uncomfortable or make you feel sick when you take it suddenly.

This medicine is not recommended for women. It may not be right for you. You may need different amounts, add to the amount of medicine, or take a larger or smaller dose than you want. You should not take this medicine if you also have a condition that could lead to pregnancy. In case you have a serious allergic reaction, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Stomach Symptoms

Diflucan contains fluconazole, a fluconazole antifungal medicine. Symptoms of some serious stomach symptoms may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and stomach pain. Tell your doctor if you have any other symptoms of diarrhea, or if you have any unexplained nausea or vomiting. Tell your doctor if you have any questions or if you have any questions about medicines.

Stomach problems are the common side effects. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you have:

a stomach ulcer. You may be more sensitive to medicines that you take, especially medicines you take before or after meals. Tell your doctor if you have any stomach sickness, especially medicines like medicines that can cause drowsiness or sedation. Tell your doctor if you have any problems with your heart, especially if you have heart problems. A rare heart problem called heart thrombosis can occur with diflucan. Stop using this medicine and get medical help right away if you develop any of the following symptoms of a serious side effect: trouble breathing, swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet, dizziness or fainting, changes in the appearance of the eyes, a sudden decrease or loss of hearing, trouble speaking or understanding.

Get medical help right away if you notice any of the following:

  • fever that does not get better
  • problems with vaginal bleeding or blood clots
  • pain in your leg or pain that doesn't go away
  • muscle weakness or stiffness
  • ringing in your ears, a swelling of your eyes, face, lips, tongue or throat
  • pain, inflammation, or rupture of a joint
  • sudden loss or pain in your mouth or throat
  • unusual dryness, itching, or sour stomach or bowel movements
  • feeling of sickle cell or multiple myeloma fluid in the blood cells
  • symptoms of liver problems (such as upper stomach pain or diarrhea, feeling tired, lightheaded, or unwell)
  • yellowing of the eyes or skin

This medicine can make you drowsy or dizzy.
